Within Cells Interlinked
A downloadable game
Night never ends in Arcadia-Nine. Rain sluices down mile-high spires of chrome and deficit, washing neon pollen across the gutter streams. Above the glow of every sodium halo, watchers linger: cameras, drones, rival syndicates, and the Department’s own mirrored satellites that record each heartbeat faster than policy allows.
Synthetic labor once kept the city breathing. Then came the riots, the fires, the slur: “skinjobs.” Now androids walk the streets licensed, tracked, and hated, useful enough to solve murders too dirty for human souls, disposable enough to blame when the corpses pile up.
Tonight’s briefing went sideways. A routine retrieval spiraled into something raw, and only two people survived to talk about it. One is you. One is the person holding the file.
Player Roles
The Android Detective: A precision-made operative built to see patterns the flesh won’t face. You feel everything, but your governors choke it to a whisper. The brass sent you into the dark with a badge, a sidearm, and a directive: neutralize the threat, don’t break protocol, stay cold. Something out there tried to thaw you.
The Interrogator (Internal Affairs): A career pit-hound in a wrinkled synth-wool suit. Your department prints body counts and you keep the margins neat. The android across the frosted glass scares the chiefs more than any cartel because it looks calm... too calm. Your job: crack that shell, hunt the glitch, keep the public safe from another rogue with a conscience.
Objective
Lock eyes across the buzzing fluorescents and decide whether steel or sympathy wins. If the android’s Emotional Control fractures, corporate policy demands a permanent shutdown. If it holds, the city gets its perfect tool back, for now. Tonight’s story unspools between interrogation room shadows and half-remembered gunfire under violet streetlights. What broke out there? And was it worth bleeding for?
